Serendipity is alive and well - by Pandora Erlandson

It all started at the Seattle airport… well, in truth it really started well before that. Like many
empty-nesters from the Midwest, our clients had dreamed of moving to Evergreen, eager to
escape the cold and overcast skies of which they were so accustomed. They came across an
agent by happenstance who said he could certainly help them find a home in the mountains -no problem! He continually sent them listings that “checked all the boxes” but somehow didn’t check very many at all. Then, while passing through the Seattle airport, our clients-to-be spied a golf bag with the word "Evergreen" emblazoned on it. They scampered over to inquire… was this referring to Evergreen, Colorado? It most certainly was, and when the golfer learned they were moving to Evergreen, he emphatically said they “must call John and Pandora”. Given the lack of checked boxes and the fact that they were starting to doubt if their current "down-the-hill" agent knew anything at all about Evergreen, they made the call. The rest, as they say, is history. It was a perfect fit from the start. Luckily, (or should I say serendipitously) we had recently spoken to a fellow realtor who was about to list a property we knew would check all those boxes. And sure enough, it was everything our clients had been looking for. It took some effort and patience, but we got it! 
But that’s not where the story ends. One of our greatest joys is in introducing clients to the
Evergreen community, so we planned a weekend getaway that would bring these new clients together with a few other clients who had also recently moved to the area. Well….our little weekend trip started with a snowmobile excursion, but ended for us with Pandora & John in a pretty serious snowmobile wreck. By happenstance, one of our clients was a caring, angelic, proactive nurse, and after a lot of help from her, her husband and the group, we were ambulanced down the mountains to a hospital in Denver. Our clients, three couples who reallydidn’t know each other, stared at one another… uh, so what do we do now? Well, they ate the spaghetti, and drank the wine, got to know each other and clicked perfectly, just as we knew they would. The perk here? To this day, six years later, we are all dear friends and have a continued special bond between this little group...  thanks to one serendipitous encounter with a golf bag at the Seattle airport.
